The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a tight budget and don't require an extra single running stroller that can be used as car seat carriers. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's simple to push, and it feels solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the most lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, thanks to its extremely nimble handling and foldable design that can be tucked away in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels made of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 and 6months of colour pack come together to create a sleek pushchair that has a soft elegant look. The frame itself weighs just under a kilo and is so light that you can lift it directly from the box (and do it using one hand).

It's also easy to add or remove adaptors or attachments - the hood, for instance, snaps on to the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable at 30deg to help deter stains from smushed rice cakes and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It could also be converted to a stroller by 6 months with the YOYO connect other chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents looking for a versatile stroller. The Evenflo Pivot can be transformed from a stroller to a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then select the best single pushchair mode for their needs. The wagon can be used by one or two kids from 6 months up to 5 years, and it has a wide storage basket to accommodate everything you require on the go.

The Xplore has dual canopies which can rotate from front to back, offering adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This isn't suitable for long trips or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy but it does not flex as much as some other wagons we have tried. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and does not lock tightly once folded. It is easy to maneuver, though, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored highly in our Strollers & Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions, which means it's lightweight and compact when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk for your car. It also has a multi-position reclined seat and cup holders for the parent. Other features of note include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels and two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

It did better in our push and turn test than many of the strollers we tested but is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the most compact we tested, with only direct overhead coverage, and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.

It took us under three minutes to put together the Delta using a standard manual. None of the parts required tools. It's missing certain features we consider essential in double strollers. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It is designed to accommodate babies from birth to around 3.5 years, converting easily between a carrycot and seat by just only a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a lightweight Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible car seat.

It is really easy to manoeuvre and the one-hand recline of the seat as well as the massive shopping basket make it simple for parents to get their child out and in quickly. Despite being narrow, the pushchair handled the everyday bumps with ease and slid through doors without a hitch.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position or rotate. This is useful for navigating through rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel while walking along an uneven path. It was able to handle this well, though it did seem a little more bumpy.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is a household name for their three-wheeled, all-terrain Jogging pushchairs, however they also make a good assortment of strollers with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most popular models. It is easy to fold and can fit into the car's boot even with the carrycot attached.

It's a little heavier than other strollers that we tried, but the wheels are rubber composite so it feels well-made and sturdy. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift, even when loaded with two kids and shopping bags.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal the UV50and sun canopy extension. They are strong and waterproof, unlike other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does come with a huge basket that's large enough to fit a changing bag as well as plenty of food items. It can also be connected with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies as big as 20 pounds (car seat and adapters sold separately). The canopy/seat has two large sun visors that can be either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't great - it's not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be adapted to accommodate twins or siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and works with a few carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be set so that they face each the other. They can also be oriented to face the parents. This should lessen sibling fights over who gets seated with mom and dad. It has a huge gear tray, bottle holder as well as snack trays and the ability to change mats. It also comes with an automatic frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

It folds down compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to assemble without tools. The instruction manual is easy to comprehend and contains multiple languages.
